I like to show my audience new ways of looking at things and present subject matter that may have gone unnoticed by a normal passerby. Being out in nature inspires me; the beauty of the natural and organic world is something that is unique and always changing. Expanding the dimensions of photography by manipulating and layering photographs is a technique I like to use to create spatial uncertainty. Another technique I like to explore with photography is light painting; with an almost unlimited opportunity to use color in an abstract way, I find it’s a great method to express concepts and ideas. Overall, my life experiences, my environment, and social interactions influence my photography. Some photographer’s work that I enjoy includes Jay Maisel, Lee Friedlandler, Dean Chamberlain, Tokihiro Sato and Jim Goldberg.
